Island Prep Teachers are Required to:

Care for a group of students imparting educational and social skills in a nurturing and engaging environment.  Conduct group activities, as well as, provide one on one attention.  Maintain health and safety of themselves and children at all times. Discuss students’ progress with parents and demonstrate understanding of developmental milestones.  Follow and implement Island Prep, Florida Department of Education, and DCF policies and procedures.  Plan weekly lessons based on the Island Prep curriculum.

Preschool Teachers: Completion of DCF 40 hours and CDA or Teaching degree is a plus.

Elementary School Teachers:  Teaching Certificate is required.

Preschool and Elementary Substitute Teacher – We are looking for substitute teachers to work at both our preschool locations and our elementary school location. Applicants need to be organized, good with children, able to communicate with parents, and love having fun!

Elementary School teachers for the 2022-23 School year:

Island Prep is Seeking a teacher to work in a unique progressive school in St. Augustine FL. Island Prep is a full-time nationally accredited private K-5 school. We are seeking an Energetic Elementary teacher who loves to help mold young lives focus on an individualized education for all students and helps students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills rather than teaching to a test. The small class sizes and individualized instruction add to the excellent work-life balance offered at Island Prep.

The ideal candidate will have:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent preferred.
• Certified or in process of being certified
• Must show a zeal for learning and interesting and new ways to reach students

• Compelling oral and written communication skills
• The ability to clearly evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback

Extended Day teacher:

This position is at a small private elementary school that serves K-5 students.

A local private elementary school is looking for any extended day teacher work afternoons with students in after-school care. This person would be responsible for monitoring playground recess and assisting teachers with students. Applicants need to be organized, good with children, able to communicate with parents, and love having fun!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 – $15.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
To keep out teachers as safe as possible we have asked both staff and students to wear masks when they are unable to social distance and acquired the necessary PPE and cleaning and sanitizing for each classroom.
