Ms. Lindsey Miller will be joining us again this year to teach our third grade class. A Flagler grad Ms. Miller has had the opportunity to work in multiple elementary classrooms in St. Johns County. Her decisions to attend the esteemed Flagler college was an easy one, as she loved our small town already, being a Gainesville native. She wanted to stay close to her family, which has always been a priority, and wanted a school in which the professors would know her personally and individual attention to students was key.
Her dream of being a teacher has been in the making since she was a little girl playing school in her bedroom. Her love of travel, the outdoors, and studies abroad in Spain did not change her mind about what she wanted to do when she graduated. “I think it is important for children to feel safe, loved, and supported at school. I love that Island Prep allows children to be themselves and learn to their strengths.”
Ms. Miller believes that equality in the classroom is paramount and students should not only learn their lessons, but understand the importance of practicing kindness and acceptance for all in our community.
You might find Ms. Miller on the beach reading her Harry Potter collection, or perhaps at her favorite relaxing restaurant, the Floridian, but wherever you may meet this inspiring teacher she is a perfect fit for our students and families at Island Prep.
