Learning Environment

LEARNING BEGINS AT ISLAND PREP

An experiential learning environment allows the students to discover the world around them in a fun and interesting educational process

All Island Prep schools, utilize open space, natural light and plants to create a pleasant and engaging learning environment.  Classrooms have clearly designated areas for learning and play with green toys and educational resources placed aesthetically in the room at the eye level of the children. In our Preschool environments, dramatic play areas and kitchens are placed centrally in the classroom in order to create a home-like atmosphere where children can imitate practical activities as well as strengthen their imaginations while developing independence and social skills.  In each of our classrooms, children are provided daily opportunities to encounter many types of materials, languages, and points of view, as well as work actively with their hands, minds, and emotions in a context that values the expressiveness and creativity of each child in the group.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT STAFF

Educators at Island Prep  are chosen based on not only their educational background and experience but their ability to meld their individual strengths to create a dynamic team for each classroom, wherein their individual qualities can shine.  Teachers and children are paired in each class based on a child’s emotional needs to create a natural balance between social development and education.   Strong relationships between our parents and teachers open lines of communication within the classrooms for the betterment of each child.
